Which blogging platform to choose

Blogging platforms: There are many platforms available for the blogging. Wordpress is one the most popular platform. Most of the people like to create a blog on Wordpress platform.
Google’s blogger is also a very good platform which is owned by Google.
Firstly I will discuss Pros and Cons of the Wordpress and Blogger both.
Pros of Wordpress
1.    It is free of cost.
2.    Very large community is behind it. Themes and plug-in repository is very large and nearly every plug-in is available to fulfil your requirement.
3.    It is highly customizable. If you have technical knowledge then you can change it completely according to your requirement otherwise you can hire developers who are easily available.
4.    Its user interface is very good as compare to other platforms.

Cons of word press
1.   One of the major concerns about the Wordpress is its security. You have to update it on regular basis to keep it secure from vulnerability. If you are dependent upon other to keep Wordpress secure, then it becomes very difficult to handle it.

2.   To have total control over Wordpress you have to purchase web hosting and custom domain so you have to pay for it. Even you just want a simple personal website where you just want to share your life experience you have to pay lot. Blogger wins here.

Pros of Blogger
1.  It is owned by Google and it is hosted on Google’s servers which are very fast.
2.   As it is hosted on Google’s server it is very secure because Google care about security. You don’t have to worry about security.
3.  To create a blog you have to just Google account .Then Visit www.blogger.com and you can easily setup your blog.
4.  It is free of cost.
5.   Google services like Google+ can be integrated very easily.
Cons of Blogger
1.  It has limited Gadgets which are not sufficient for a large websites.
2.  User interface customization is limited as compare to Wordpress.
3.  Very small numbers of developers have knowledge of Blogger so many time it becomes difficult to setup the blog.
Which one to choose: I have worked on both Wordpress and Blogger. One thing that I hate about Wordpress is that its security concern. In every month I had to take back up of the database and updated it. After updating, many times its plug-in stop working and I had to work hard to fix them.
Secondly I hosted my website www.stayrocks.com on Wordpress platform on Godaddy web hosting and in starting I paid nearly 150$ per year for web hosting plus custom domains. Many times it became difficult for me as I was not having job that time. After investing both time and money it became difficult for me be motivated and carry on.
One thing I noted that I just wanted to post simple tutorials. No registration and login required. Then I searched for better option then I came to know Blogger. Which is totally free and Now I have to just invest my time and only 10$ per year for my custom domain.

So I recommend Blogger when you want a simple website where you want to share your knowledge. If you want a more solid website where you want to store user’s information then Wordpress is the best choice.
